Located on the 25th floor of Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, Pierre is the creation of Chef Pierre Gagnaire (three Michelin stars for his restaurants in Paris, London and Tokyo) and also recently opened Seoul (Corea) and Courchevel (France). Overseen in Hong Kong by the talented team of Executive Chef Philippe Orrico the restaurant creates food best described as “poetry on a plate”. Pierre offers the finest French cuisine presented with unconventional flair.
I enjoyed the starter “La France” who play with French food habit, as snails, camember, or farm eggs. The Bresse chicken in 2 styles: first course the breast, just perfectly cooked and then the legs chopped in a wok in Chinese style with lettuce, just great !
On the top, the Head Sommelier Pierre Legrandois make a good job on French and worldwide wines.
The prices on evening are expansive but affordable, about 2000 HKG $ (200 €). A good news, there is a lunch offer (3 courses) for only 300 HKG (30 €).
